slips and tapes, and stainless steel forceps. |
Evaluating
Surface Contamination
The SKC Wipe Sample Test Kit provides the
Industrial Hygienist with the necessary supplies to sample surfaces for
toxic materials that can gain entry into the body via ingestion or skin
absorption. In addition, accumulated contaminants may become re-suspended
in air and contribute to airborne exposures. Wipe samples provide data to
evaluate surface contamination, hazard control effectiveness, and
workplace sanitation practices.
Four Easy Steps
Review area to be sampled and prepare a sketch using appropriate
data sheets
Place template on surface and wipe area inside template with
filter, cotton swab, or pH paper per instructions included in the kit
Place filter or cotton swab into sample bag for transport to the
laboratory; pH paper is read on the spot.
Submit samples and data sheets to your laboratory.
