Each LiquidCheck Test Kit contains 5 tests including reagents, graduated pipets, collection bottles, test strips, and LeadCheck^®swabs to quickly screen liquids for the presence of lead at levels considered to be hazardous waste. Simple-to-use and easy to interpret, results appear in minutes. No need to stop an operation and wait for lab results. This test will provide fast and accurate results in the field.

Principle of Method

The LiquidCheck test is based on the simple reactivity of lead to specific compounds capable of forming strongly-colored complexes with lead. When the LeadCheck swabs in this kit are used, a pink color specific for lead develops quickly and is stable for hours.

This test is not quantitative, and is not intended to replace laboratory analysis.

How to Use the Test Kits

1. Add reagents to the sample and shake to mix.
2. Let the mixture settle.
3. Insert the test strip and wait 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Squeeze swab on both ends and shake well to mix. Squeeze and drip the contents of the swab onto the test strip.
5. Test strip will develop a pink band or line if lead is present at or above the level of detection.
